Pepi Belekou lives and works in Athens. She was trained in the Systemic Epistemology – Approach to the Athenian Institute of Anthropos, with which she is collaborating as a Trainer in the Group Process Training Program.
She holds a degree in Psychology from the Department of Social Studies of the University of Crete and Social Work from the University of West Attica. She received her Master’s degree from the Medical School of the University of Ioannina, in the field of Health Psychology. At the same time, she was trained in the Addiction Sector, receiving Certification as an Addiction Counselor (Alcohol and Drug Counselor – IR &RC).
She has worked for several years at the Therapy Center for Dependent Individuals (KETHEA) and in the field of Community Psychiatry at the Association for Regional Development and Mental Health (EPAPSY), where she is a clinical associate to date. At the same time, since 2008 she has maintained her private office where she works with Individuals, Groups and Families.
Having a special interest in the development of Awareness, Empowerment, Networking and Education interventions in the Community (teachers, parents, mental health professionals, collectives, wider systems) has participated in and implemented in the last 10 years Programs such as: «empowerment and support in selected areas of Greece» (EPAPSY), «Citizens Against Depression – Training Program for Self-Help Coordinators» (EPAPSY), «Major Training Program – Training of teachers in relationships and school climate” (Institute of Educational Policy-Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs), «Intervention for Mental Health care of asylum seekers and refugees in Attica and Thessaloniki / Community Psychosocial Workers» (EPAPSY).
She trains and supervises Mental Health Professionals. She is a member of the Supervisory Team of the
Association of Greek Psychologists (SEPS) in the context of the operation «A New Beginning in EPAL. – Support of School Units EPAL. – Supervision and Support of the Deputy Psychologists of EPAL». Since 2009 he has been a collaborator of the University of Thessaly in the Postgraduate Program “Counseling in Special Education, Training and Health” in the field of Personal Development of students (Individual and Group Psychotherapy, Supervision).
She is a member of the Association of Greek Psychologists (SEPS), the Hellenic Society of Systemic Therapy
(ELESYTH), the American Association of Group Psychotherapy (AGPA), the Greek branch of WAPR (World
Association for Psychosocial Rehabilitation), as well as a member of the Scientific Committee of the
Association of Families and Friends for Mental Health of North Attica.
She has made presentations at Scientific Conferences as well as publications in Scientific Journals. He has
participated as an author of the book “Contemporary Issues of Social and Community Psychiatry”, published by TOPOS (2014). Her scientific interests include the study and application of the “Recovery” model of mental illness and its connection with Systemic Epistemology, the study of Group Dynamics in Organizations.
