Group Therapy

Within the group therapy setting, a climate of trust and mutuality is cultivated, allowing group members to develop open and sincere communication with one another.

Group Therapy through AIA’s Systemic–Dialectical Multilevel–Multifocal Approach

Group therapy at AKMA, based on the Systemic–Dialectical Multilevel–Multifocal approach, focuses on understanding the individual through their interactions with the whole. The group is not treated as a simple sum of individuals but as a living system in which each member both influences and is influenced by the others. This multilevel and multifocal dimension allows for the simultaneous exploration of both individual and group dynamics, while taking into account the social and cultural context.

Within the group, members learn to recognize and explore personal and intergenerational patterns, to develop self-awareness, and to strengthen their ability for meaningful communication and collaboration. The therapeutic process goes beyond emotional expression, encouraging the creation of new ways of thinking and acting.

The group serves as a mirror, enabling each member to see aspects of themselves through others. Through this process, new perspectives emerge, the sense of belonging is reinforced, and trust is cultivated, fostering the creation of more functional relationships both inside and outside the group.
