Kostas Papachristopoulos holds a PhD in Organizational Psychology and is a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS). He is also a Systemic Psychotherapist, trained over the last 15 years at the Athenian Institute of Anthropos (AKMA), where he now teaches systemic theory and its applications in therapy, group process, and organizational contexts. He teaches Organizational and Work Psychology, Organizational Behavior, and Systemic Thinking and Intervention at several institutions, including the University of Crete, the Athens University of Economics and Business, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, University of Thessaly, and the Hellenic Open University, as well as in public and private sector organizations.

He has served in senior positions in municipalities and development agencies (e.g., Development Agency of the Municipality of Athens, ADEP, KDEPA), and collaborated with consulting firms and organizations in the fields of HR, employment, and innovation. He has led more than 20 research and development projects, and has evaluated numerous initiatives such as Urban Innovative Actions. He is an expert advisor to the European Union (e.g., ESCO – European Skills, Competences and Occupations Classification), the Council of Europe (e.g., Intercultural Cities Network), and other European networks on social and employment policy (e.g., Eurocities).

He has authored over 60 presentations at scientific conferences, published in peer-reviewed journals, and served on the editorial board of Human Systems. He was the coordinator of the Work and Organizational Psychology Division of the Hellenic Psychological Society (HPS) for six years and is a member of multiple scientific associations in Greece and internationally (e.g., EAWOP, Hellenic Psychological Society, Hellenic Society for Systemic Therapy, National Society for Psychotherapy of Greece). He also edited the Greek edition of Fritjof Capra’s book Hidden Connections (Αφανείς Συνάφειες, Indiktos Publishing).

His research interests focus on workplace motivation and well-being, economic psychology (e.g., compensation and cooperation), systemic approaches to intervention, and creativity and innovation in organizational leadership. He has completed undergraduate studies in Psychology and Business Administration, and holds master’s degrees in Human Resource Management (MSc), Counseling (MA), and Cultural Unit Management (MSc). He conducted postdoctoral research at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2019) and at Université du Québec à Montréal (2023) as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow, focusing on positive social impact and social innovation.
