Asimogiorgos Giorgos
Social Worker (MSc), Psychotherapist, Addiction Counselor
Giorgos Asimogiorgos was born in Athens in 1964. He studied Social Work and went on to specialize in the field of addictions at the University of San Diego, California. For over twenty years, he worked across all phases of addiction treatment—Motivation, Psychological Rehabilitation, Social Reintegration, and Family Support—many of them in senior leadership roles.
He also completed a Postgraduate Program in Health Unit Management, with a focus on addiction services, at the National School of Public Health (Greece).
His training in the Systemic Dialectical Approach began in 1992 at the Athens Center for the Study of Human Behavior (AKMA).
He holds a Master’s Degree in Adolescent Health from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Since 2010, he has been a regular collaborator of AKMA and maintains a private practice, working with individuals, couples, and groups.
He is a member of the European Family Therapy Association (EFTA) and the Hellenic Society for Adolescent Medicine (EEEI).
In recent years, his research has focused on the value of psychosocial interventions in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
