Psychologist – Systemic Psychotherapist
Antonis Antoniou graduated from the Department of Psychology at the University of Crete (Rethymno) and went on to complete two postgraduate programs:
-
Counseling and Career Guidance at the University of Athens, and
-
Organizational and Economic Psychology at Panteion University.
From 2000 to 2021, he worked in the fields of support, empowerment, and therapy for individuals experiencing or at risk of social exclusion. With a strong focus on adolescents and young people, and a deep belief in the value of working with groups and communities, he has participated in the design, coordination, and implementation of programs and actions in prisons, shelters, youth hostels, institutions, schools, and in street-based outreach.
In 2003, he began his training in Systemic Dialectical Epistemology and Practice at the Athens Center for the Study of Human Behavior (AKMA). He completed further training in group process facilitation in 2013, and a Supervisor Training Seminar in 2022. Since 2009, he has collaborated with AKMA, facilitating empowerment and therapy groups for adolescents, conducting individual and group therapy, and participating in various training and therapeutic programs.
He is currently a member of the coordinating team of the AKMA Seminar on Group Empowerment for Adolescents and Young Adults, and implements supervision and training programs for groups and professionals across diverse settings.
Since 2008, he has maintained a private psychotherapy practice, working with individuals, couples, families, and groups, while also offering training and supervision for professionals.
Art has always been an important part of his life. He has played music in small and large ensembles since childhood, and he also enjoys sketching and painting.
He currently lives in Athens with his family.
