Psychotherapist, ECP – Certified Adult Educator

Maria Alifragki Sakka is an Educator and Psychotherapist, holding a degree in Education from PATES-SELETE (1991) and a diploma from the Athens Technological Educational Institute (TEI), School of Health Professions.

She is a member of the Hellenic Society for Systemic Therapy (ELESYTH), the European Family Therapy Association (EFTA), and a holder of the European Certificate of Psychotherapy (ECP) awarded by the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP).

She is a Career Guidance and Vocational Counselor, registered in the National Registry of Certified Adult Trainers of EKEPIS (National Center for Vocational Certification), and a member of the Hellenic Association for Counseling.

Since 1984, she has been affiliated with George and Vasso Vassiliou and the Athens Center for the Study of Human Behavior (AKMA), where she trained in Family and Group Dynamics, Process and Therapy, and in Adolescent Counseling.

For many years, she worked at the IKA Center for Child Mental Health as Head of Adolescent Career Counseling (Life Planning), providing support to adolescents individually, in groups, and through family interventions. She was also a member of the Education and Research Department of the same center.

Maria has contributed as a trainer in numerous educational programs for adolescents, teachers, and parents, including:

  • The Ministry of Education’s “Major Training Program for Educators”

  • Career Guidance Counselor training programs in cooperation with the Pedagogical Institute and the University of Athens

  • Training programs of OKANA (Organization Against Drugs), N.E.L.E. (Prefectural Committees for Adult Education), EPIPSY (University Mental Health Research Institute), the Center for Child Mental Health, and, of course, AKMA
