Maria Angelou is a Systemic Psychotherapist<\/strong>, certified by the European Association for Psychotherapy (ECP holder)<\/strong>. She holds a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology<\/strong> from Middlesex University of London<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

She has specialized in Systemic Psychotherapy<\/strong> for individuals, groups, families, and wider systems through her training at the Athens Center for the Study of Human Behavior (AKMA)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In 1991\u20131992, she received training in the United States<\/strong> (Department of Education, NERC, New York) in prevention strategies for substance use<\/strong> in schools and municipalities.<\/p>\n

A graduate of the School of Humanities, she further specialized as a Drug Addiction Counselor<\/strong> at the Department of Psychiatry, University of California, San Diego<\/strong>, and was trained in psychotherapeutic techniques for dependent individuals<\/strong> at the Psychiatric Centrum Bloemendaal \u2013 Therapeutic Community \u201cEmilie Hoeve\u201d<\/strong> in The Hague, Netherlands (1985), including work in detoxification, rehabilitation, and prison programs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

She is a Certified Adult Educator<\/strong> by the National Organisation for the Certification of Qualifications and Vocational Guidance (EOPPEP)<\/strong> in Greece.<\/p>\n

From 1984 to 2012<\/strong>, she worked at KETHEA (Therapy Center for Dependent Individuals)<\/strong> in various leadership roles, focusing on treatment for people with addictions and their families<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
